Are you struggling with pornography? One of the keys to victoriously staying away from it is to meditate often on God’s Word and what it has to say regarding human sexuality. Prayerfully read these verses, repent, and experience God’s love, forgiveness, grace, and Holy-Spirit power that can sanctify you and to lead you holiness. If you are not yet a follower of Jesus, start here by finding peace with God.
“Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things; and the God of peace shall be with you.”
“I say to you, that everyone who looks on a woman to lust for her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.”
“ . . . you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife . . . or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”
“Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.”
And He [Jesus] was saying, “That which proceeds out of the man, that is what defiles the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness. All these evil things proceed from within and defile the man.”
1 John 2:16
“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh [sexual sin] and the lust of the eyes [covetousness] and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.”
“But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.”
“Woe to him who makes his neighbors drink—you pour out your wrath and make them drunk, in order to gaze at their nakedness!”
“Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.”
Viewing pornography doesn’t satisfy. You will want to see more and more. This is one of the reasons people end up addicted to it—they’re never satisfied with what they’ve already seen. So with God’s help, renounce it and stay away from it . . . for your own good.
“The eye is not satisfied with seeing.”
What you feast your eyes upon will lead to additional cravings and sin!
“I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl.”
1 Peter 1:15-16
“But like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.’”
Ephesians 5:3, 11-12
“But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints; [that is: let it not even exist among you] . . . Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.”
“ . . . rejoice in the wife of your youth . . . let her breasts satisfy you at all times; be exhilarated always with her love. For why should you, my son, be exhilarated with an adulteress . . . ?”
2 Peter 2:18–19
“For by uttering boastful, empty words, they seduce, with fleshly desires and debauchery, people who have barely escaped from those who live in error. They promise them freedom [e.g., to fornicate, commit adultery, indulge sexual desires], but they themselves are slaves of corruption, for by what a man is overcome, by this he is enslaved.”
1 Corinthians 10:13
“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear [or “endure”-NASB] it.”
1 Corinthians 15:33–34
“Do not be deceived: Bad company corrupts good morals [Spending hours with actors and actresses online who are enticing you to fantasize about committing adultery/fornication, will corrupt your good morals]. Become sober-minded as you ought, and stop sinning; for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.”
“The perverse in heart are an abomination to the LORD, but the blameless in their walk are His delight.”
Proverbs 5:3-4, 8, 20–23
“The lips of an adulteress drip honey, and smoother than oil is her speech; but in the end she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword . . . Keep your way far from her, and do not go near the door of her house . . . For why should you, my son, be exhilarated with an adulteress . . . For the ways of a man are before the eyes of the LORD, and He watches all his paths. His own iniquities will capture the wicked, and he will be held with the cords of his sin. He will die for lack of instruction, and in the greatness of his folly he will go astray.”
1 Peter 2:11
“Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts, which wage war against the soul.”
“Therefore, put to death what belongs to your worldly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and greed [each of these terms is directly related to sexual sins], which is idolatry. Because of these, God’s wrath comes on the disobedient . . . “
2 Peter 2:7b–9
“He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men (for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day with their lawless deeds.”
“The reward of humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, honor and life. Thorns and snares are in the way of the perverse; He who guards himself will be far from them.”
“I will set no worthless thing before my eyes”
“Walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire [or lust] of the flesh.”
“Thy Word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against Thee.”
And it came about after these events that his master’s wife looked with desire at Joseph, and she said, “Lie with me.” But he refused and said to his master’s wife, “Behold, with me here, my master does not concern himself with anything in the house, and he has put all that he owns in my charge. There is no one greater in this house than I, and he has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do this great evil, and sin against God?” And it came about as she spoke to Joseph day after day, that he did not listen to her to lie beside her, or be with her. Now it happened one day that he went into the house to do his work, and none of the men of the household was there inside. And she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me!” And he left his garment in her hand and fled, and went outside.
“None of you shall approach any blood relative of his to uncover nakedness; I am the LORD. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, that is, the nakedness of your mother. She is your mother; you are not to uncover her nakedness. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife; it is your father’s nakedness. The nakedness of your sister, either your father’s daughter or your mother’s daughter, whether born at home or born outside, their nakedness you shall not uncover. The nakedness of your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter, their nakedness you shall not uncover; for their nakedness is yours. [HCB: “because it will shame your family”]. The nakedness of your father’s wife’s daughter, born to your father, she is your sister, you shall not uncover her nakedness. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s sister; she is your father’s blood relative. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister, for she is your mother’s blood relative. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s brother; you shall not approach his wife, she is your aunt. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law; she is your son’s wife, you shall not uncover her nakedness. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife; it is your brother’s nakedness. You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and of her daughter, nor shall you take her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter, to uncover her nakedness; they are blood relatives. It is lewdness. And you shall not marry a woman in addition to her sister as a rival while she is alive, to uncover her nakedness.”
“A man will be praised according to his insight, but one of perverse mind will be despised.”
“He who has a wayward and crooked mind finds no good, and he who has a willful and contrary tongue will fall into calamity.” [Amplified Edition]
“Did he not make them one, with a portion of the Spirit in their union? And what was the one God seeking? Godly offspring. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and let none of you be faithless to the wife of your youth.”
“He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion.”

Can we trust the Bible? Isn’t the Bible just “ancient fiction” written by fallible, perhaps even deceitful men? Haven’t books of the Bible been lost and even tampered with down through the centuries? Isn’t the Bible out-of- sync with scientific discoveries? What about the apparent contradictions in the Bible? What makes the Bible any different than the Hindu Vedas, Quran, or Book of Mormon? Many teens growing up in Christian homes have not been exposed to the wealth of evidence and good arguments for God’s existence and the trustworthiness of the Bible. Under-equipped and weak in their faith, many young adults walk away from the Christian faith after they move out of the house, if not before. ABR hears this sad story over and over from heartbroken parents. Well, we would love to help prevent this from happening to your son or daughter. Charlie Campbell, the founder of ABR, has developed a “Youth Apologetics Course” that will help EQUIP your son or daughter to STAND STRONG in the truth and “contend earnestly for the faith” (Jude 3). It consists of ten videos, two books, and a fill-in-the-blank workbook that your teen can watch, read, and go through at their own pace at home. Learn more here.
